Biasanya when you lodge a police report on property lost (did U or not in the first place, complete with description of goods, photos, etc), like all goods (don't complicate things with live or not live unless it is obvious things that you cannot obtain through a purchase like your wife - stolen in the night and sold off ... just kidding, friend ...) the police supposed to go out and investigate la (but whether they do it or malas and tutup buku is lain cerita pulak lah ...).

If in their pursuit of the trail of the stolen goods (eg. your cat or some wild protected animal or parts of my 4WD, etc) they found it in a shop, ahaaaaa!!!! they should do their job la ...

Huh, if my FurKid is found in a pet shop, I make police report about my reported stolen (pagar, pintu cage dan mangga meka pecah aperrrrr ....) discovered in the shop complete with gambo of my darlings sitting pretty and tear-stained muker kesian in der shop wan lehhhh ... I will also take the shop owner to court myself ahhhhh .... but my senapang patah I leave at home laaaa ....

Haha.. sound very easy one! However, without microchips and only arm with photos and receipt, still difficult for the police to ascertain that you are the true owner. If there is precedence cases (specifically involving cats and if you happen to know) please let me know.

3. No reason why you cannot sell/rehome cats that have been chipped, it's done all the time...you keep your own records and so will the vet. There are a few spare stickers of the microchip # which you can keep for your own records, give the balance away to the new owner so that their vet can have a record too!
