hi everyone
I have Just adopted a kitten, named Jefferson, and i do not understand him. I am used to cats as we always had lots at home in my family and i love them sooo much... Cute Jefferson is a male aged between 8/10 weeks, i got him yesterderday from a rescue centre. The kitten does not like to be left alone in a room, but does not want to be touched, he is not agressive at all, he would just cries and go. When we move in different rooms in the house he follows us, crying, but if we touch him, he just goes away. I do not think he is needy of afffection as he refuses it, he is not hungry either, as he has milk replacement and kitten food available at all time in small quantity. I have placed stuff all around the house for it to play with, he is not interested at all with playing. The only room he would be affectionate is the toilets, and i don't understand!! If we go to the bathroom, he becomes lovely, jumping on your legs to get some carresses...purring loudly... Another important consideration is that he is not interested in adventure and discovering the house which is a 3 storeys building, with many spaces to check out. If i am not pushing him a little bit to move, he would just sit on the carpet floor for all day without a move. Is it just his personnality? or does he still need to seettle? Can a 8 weeks kitten be so un-affectionnate and not adventurous?I am worried, cause from my past experiences with kitten, i have never met such a particular individual, he is cute and i do not want to miss the point with him, is there anything in particular i can do? Also, i am sorry if my english is not perfect, i am a french girl leaving in Ireland, and somtimes my language is not perfect, and i don't want to offend anyone with this! thank you for your help to understand the kitten in order to provide him the best in his life with me and my partner!

hi there,
welcome to the forum,..hehehehehe .I think best u let him comfortable with the new environment first,..When i first found my kitty inside the drain , she was still a baby, around 6-8 weeks..i bought her home, she started making noise ..she refused to eat..and she slept 2 days in a row without eating.lucky she let me touched her... u have to communicate with him.tell him that this is your new home ...i did the same too , when the kitten felt safe ,she or he wont 'screaming',anymore.. .
