Default My cat loves durian

Hi,

I'm new here. Great place to share cat stories with other cat lovers who are crazy about cats!

We have 5 cats at home - Austin, Budin, Patsy, Footsy and Nemo. All are short-haired local breed, except for Nemo which has semi-long hair. Austin is the one which loves durian. I found him by the roadside in the rain some 5 years ago. He is a fiery feline but VERY manja. Does any of your cat eat durian??

Budin is a white cat with no tail. I found him at one of the food stalls in Sri Hartamas with his behind bleeding. I didn't know who did it, but that person must be mad for chopping-off the little kitten's tail. I took him home out of pity but grew to become very fond of him. He is now 4 y.o; very fat and laid back, loves to sleep, and likes to clean himself (and other cats) during his waking hours.

Patsy & Footsy are sisters. Nemo is the hunter - he likes to bring "strange" animals home eg birds, lizards, snakes etc. My husband loves animals - we also have ayam serama, birds (inc. a talking bird), fishes, turtles and indian tortoises in and around the house.

I'd like to post my cats pics here but my mom & mother-in-law said if you take cats' pics, the cats will either die or run away. Is there any truth in this?? I'm not superstitious, but I don't want to take any chances with my cats. Any advise??

Cheers!

Hi welcome to the forum.

I don't see any logic to taking pictures and your cats being lost or dies on you. I have many friends whose cats lived for 14 -16 years and took pictures of their cats..

It should be ok...do u think the rest of the cat lovers in this forum will take the risk if it was true?

Don't worry about it. We would love to see pics of your babies...

if a cat dies due to having their pics taken, then i guess my cats must have tons of life in them. i've heard about this thingy but if they do die, its just either a coincidense or god just loves them more....

Thanks Ika. Will think about that though honestly, I'm still not quite sure..

Right now, Austin & Nemo are at the vet - they've been hospitalised since Saturday for serious injuries caused by fighting with the neighbour's cat.

Will try and get some shots when they've recovered.

Cheers!

Default Welcome!

Hi Ladyluck

Glad you found your way to the forum. Yeah I heard of this belief before but really I don't think there's any truth in it. The durian thing - just some advise, better not to feed your cat with it anymore as it can be bad for their digestion. Cats, unlike dogs are strictly carnivourous. Another thing I heard is that chocolates are poisonous for cats and dogs. Anyone heard of this?

Hope your cat recovers soon!

Gaudygoddess - I shall take heed of the durian thingy. Didn't realise it may not be so good for his stomach!

Yes, I read about the chocolate, too. There are two things that we should NEVER feed our cats - chocolates & panadol. I don't know why, but most of the cat books I read mentioned this. Perhaps I should go back & check on this later.

Well Ika... I guess your Smeagol may have to give up his favorite chocolate (what type of chocolate does he eat, anyway? Just wondering...) Btw, I like your Smeagol - saw his/her pic just now - very cute!

p/s how do you "paste" the smiley on your note? each time i click on it (eg. confused), it just gives me the expression like this --->
Appreciate if someone could help me here. thanks.
