No. Pedigree cats (such as Persians, Maine Coons, Ragdols and many more) are pedigree by generations. When you buy a pedigree, the cat breeder will give you the cert upon signing the agreement or upon receiving money from you. The cert owner name will be changed to your name as the rightful owner of the cat. If the seller (like in your case) told you that the cats are "pedigree" but didn’t give you anything, 99% chances are; you have been conned. Usually, cats with certificates are sold directly by the cat's breeder, not through any pet shops (I said usually.. ). Certificate that I was talking about is not a self printed paper or a vet medical card. The cert must come from either a local registered association (such as FSM) governs by CFA, TICA, FIFE (any few others) or from CFA, TICA, FIFE themselves with SERIAL NUMBER. There are few other cat registry associations but these 3 are well known in Malaysia. If somebody sell you cats with "certificate" and you don’t know whether the cert is valid or not, you can ask people in here by scanning the certificate. I have seen many "TIPU" certs in my life. If your cats’ don’t have certificates from their mother and father, there is no way for you to get certificates. Pedigrees as I mention are "pedigree" from many generations - mak - bapak - datuknenek dari mak and bapak - moyang dari mak dan bapak. (if mak - bapak - datuknenek dari mak and bapak - moyang dari mak dan bapak ada certificate, that means you cats are pedigree) All pedigree cats generation can be easily traced. Their certificates must have details of themselves and a "pedigree bloodline" which is a separate paper of the cert to show you their generations. The cerita is amat panjang, hopefully others can add on.

For cats without certificates, they can participate in cat shows but will be under "Household category". It is a category for DLH/DSH cats, usually showed for fun. There will be no points given or merit such as Championship etc. In household, all cats with different colors, different body sizes, long or shorthair are competing without using any specific requirements or guidelines. |
