i have been feeding my cats cooked meat about two times a week; buffalo meat, chicken meat and necks. perhaps i will try to shorten the boiling time next time and see my cats acceptance. however, i will still give kibbles since the new dish don't have that many fans in my household. anyway, alicia, how much raw food should i give to my cats?

catalina, feed healthy cats between 3 - 5 % of body weight in raw food. an average 5kg cat will eat between 150 to 250g or raw foor per day.

diana, ma'ahes sounds like a smart fella!

i will try to feed them raw chicken meat and necks next time... see how but i will still have to keep kibbles in the menu since sometimes i might not be able to prepare raw food for them

the most important thing is to love your cats. a totally raw diet is ideal but feeding kibble is not evil. i think that we must do the best we can and that's all anyone can ask really.

this thread is not solely to convert more to raw feeding but to highlight research and findings in the field as well as to make available resources that can be difficult to access.

i really agree with you. i am trying to diverse my cats' meals as i can see that they are bored eating kibbles. well, perhaps some of them! i think canned food is expensive and i prefer freshly prepared home food - though my cats like the reverse they swarm to opened can like bees!

i am not thinking to completely switch to home prepared diet as i am working and sometimes need to go outstation or balik kampung. after all, i am currently giving my cats iams and rc, the home prepared food is just to give them a taste of real food instead of just eating biscuits!

do keep us up to date on your progress. it's always valuable to know people balance raw and cooked/kibble diets.

i would! after all, i have seen that my cats seems to be much happier and more friendly now - asking for more perhaps? i will try to cook less and less time to try out raw stuff next! those that eat more of the cooked stuff seems to have much nicer coats now! glossier & softer

Angry

hi i have just started to feed my cat raw ( after a long time research). however i have a problem with the organs part since i can't find organs to feed my cats. i have been using organic meats to feed them and they love all meat but leave out the bones. can i use suppliments to make up with the loss from lack of organs and bones? or should i feed some canned food for more complete nuritions?
