i prayed last nite.. and today i still have hopes that the vet MAY be wrong... well anyway, still trying to cure his flu first before confirming that he has to go through heart medication... yesterday the vet said he might suddenly die, but today she seems to say that he's only having the flu? this is so emotionally tiring.. last nite i spent all nite in front of my pc.. looking for everything i can find about feline HCM.. well anyway, crazycat.. your cats are absolutely georgous! i wish my cat could join your breeding program.. one question here though.. few months ago i said you must be rich to be able to import such number of maine coons.. and then you denied it.. saying you're just crazy about cat.. crazy enuf to pay such sum of money to get them... hrm... if you're not rich.. where did you get such money..? pardon me for asking.. i do intend to start breeding someday.. i am still just learning about it as much as i can first... maybe you could inspire me on the cost? right now i sure have a lot of vet bills on hand. i sure hope Nyenc is alright.. the vet said he might develop heart problem in the future.. based on his x-ray... and i hope she's wrong.. i hope he's just normal..

Yeah lah guys...I just rechecked the article missa sent me on importing cats and it says cats from US kena quarantine....aiyo...seksa lah.
Anyways...I'm so sorry to hear bout Nyenc dear...maybe you could get a second opinion...see if betul betul confirm or not.
So how is the research going om feline HCM? I was wondering if the parents were negative...how com now he got it ah? It can skip generations is it?

I have cats since I was young... I wish I can open a pet shop in future and this is a jump start for me. Where the money came from ??? Its up to you to manage your income... like me instead of getting a double story house, I just get a low cost flat... used the extra money for this project... when I have sufficient fund... I wish I can get a rumah kampung when there is land to operate my cattery....

So sad to hear about your cat's. Hopefuly that he will get back well soon.Hopefuly nothings wrong with my cat... otherwise I will be crying to import another for replacement....

thank you for the answer... well, i asked for permission to bring my cat to KL for echocardiogram, (coz we dont have it here in kuching) and it was granted.. maybe i will be bringing him in after raya. at the moment i have to arrange an import permit from KL. care to give some advice? i will be in KL for a week, from this 31st oct, so i will be bringing everything needed to apply for the import permit. (vaccine card and letter from the vet about his heart condition)

which office should i get the import permit? from cheras or damansara? (but the letter from the vet is addresed to damansara office) and how do i go about collecting my cat from KLIA? thanks soo much ya! i dont mean to stray away from the main topic..

p/s yes, hopefully your cat is fine.. it is such a heartbreak to see them sick.. maybe you could screen them early (around 1 year of age) to be sure.. and definitely before you breed them.. you dont want to produce a kitten with HCM or HD.

Hi if you pet comes from US, there is a quarantine for that. Only those countries who are rabies-free like Australia and Canada and etc. are allowd to be release without quarantine at all.

I brought my cats from Canada and they need to be quarantined for a week. Lots of paperwork to do before getting on the plane. I was so stressed out that time because constantly worried that they will not get through or the flight will not be on time, etc, etc. I thought I was getting depression...

I had to apply for a Malaysian permit from Canada. I forgot where. but when they arrived, they were kept in a cargo place near F1 race track. I visited them the first few days then I left them there unwilling because I have to go back to Johor (no where to stay). I suggest you buy own cat food because they give friskies and my cats didn't like it. They both get a cage each. The weather is a big change for them. Luckily the place was quite open and you get lots of wind.

Oh ya, the Maine Coon are gorgeous! I heard they are the largest breed among house cats, is it true? really like to have one but I bet they are very expensive. As a poor girl like me, I will share my love with local cats.
There are too many out there that need us.
