DIY Scratch Post
Howdy Folks!
This was my next project after those window perches I posted... DIY scratch post... My kitties loved it... best of all, cost to me abt RM25 only  (Rope = RM15, plank = RM8.5, Mouse = RM1.2) Also posted some photos of my kitties room, they r indoor cats & I don't cage them so at nite, they sleep in a converted toilet upstairs... complete with ventilation fan, plenty of shelves & the box is their favourite sleeping place, box & shelves DIY too... ps: The scratch post was a work-in-progress... that's why some shots 1 post wrapped with rope, some both  Last edited by compelmw : 31-01-2006 at 01:35 AM.

nice job. I also had a converted toilet before but not as nice as yours.

Nice works compelmw. I also made toys and shelves for my cats. My next project is scratch post, I have some material but never get around to do them.

To answer some of the questions:
1. The rope - start by hammering 1 end in with a short (1/2 inch nail), then wrap around TIGHT... hammer another nail at the end. When finish, every 8~10 circles, add a nail... 2. Rope can get from ACE hardware or other hardware shops... For the toilet seat, all you have to do is wrap an old t-shirt on it & close the seat, should be tight enough. Sorry can give tips but cannot take orders, not enough time to complete my own projects as it is...
