Thank you Prince Brunei, yes, they are beautiful cats. I also don’t know how pure they are but mine all have yellow eyes. My 2 female were support to come with pedigree cert but I didn’t get them. One of the females, won the first prize in the non-pedigree female open last Kuching International Cat Show and the international judge said she is a Burmese. The chocolate Burmese is pure as his parents are pedigree. The blue Burmese doesn’t have the cert. don’t know if his ancestors are pure Burmese.

i believe if the cats don't come with cert we cannot claim they are this and this breed... anyway, i still love my cats eventhough they don't have any cert at all

one thing to be think of - there's lots of people of mixed parentage nowadays. then such people don't have pedigree ma??? we have certs (birth cert and ic no less) and some have family tree. just curious coz i belong to such people too

Catalina, you are right, all cats desert to be love whether they are pedigree or not. I have mixed breed pet cats that I love just as much as my pedigree cats. I keep pedigree Scottish Fold and British Shorthair mainly for showing and also I can say for definite that they are pure and pedigree cats.

Unless my cats come with pedigree certificate I cannot claim them as pedigree cats but they are not necessary not pure. In order for a cat to have a pedigree cert., both parents must have the cert. and the dam’s cert. with the breeder’s name in it and the breeder must register his or her cattery, then the litter born and finally the individual kitten. It is a long process and for some reasons, the breeder may choose not to register any of the above, resulting in the kitten without the certificate. Sometime it may be the cat association not approving the registration for some reason or another or the cert. get lost and etc.

I won’t discuss human issues but as a cat breeder, I think it is my duty to preserve the character and features of a breed. After all, it is its characters and features that initial you to buy, to keep and to breed it in the first place. I will breed a Burmese to a Burmese and not other breed. It is not mixed breed are no good in fact most hybrid cats are genetically better than pure breed. I found far too many irresponsible breeders claiming their mixed breed cats as pure breeds. It just spoils the reputation of that breed.

yeah, i do understand... i also come across this "british shorthair" dam with kittens sired by a persian. how pure the "bsh" i have no idea, it is blue for sure and the coat denser but the head? wedge type like a siamese

as for mixed breed, i ashamedly admit i like them better, esp mixed persian. their not as "lazy" as pedigree ones and more active. but i love it coz not so vocal. and another character i like best is their face, not flat face. i know for pure persian also have traditional head type, but hard to come by

however, as for me, if i ever want to buy thousand dollar worth of a kitten, better it come with a cert, never mind if pet quality and neutered already

if the cat don't come with cert, i believe the breeder must be a reputable one and responsible breeder to so i can put trust on him/her to give me quality kittens. better yet recommended by someone i trust
