ada ke colour points yg lain?

i found somewhere there is a formula on how to actually class the colour of a colourpoint by looking at the colour of their nose and paws.

Actually, (talking dilutes of basic colours) the dilute of seal is blue; of chocolate = lilac, red dilutes to cream and cinnamon becomes fawn

Determining point colour (if there's any doubt) is done on the basis of nose leather and paw pad colour, true - but there's no 'formula' as such. This is just fine so long as you're not dealing with a cat whose feet are white, because there will be pink pads. (OK - you MAY get a bit of colour in some Birmans even though the feet have white gloves) But to pick the difference between a red and a cream point by looking in those places is well nigh impossible - it's all pink. Best to resort to genetics in that case, if there's any doubt - and pray that it's not from a mating which could have produced either red or cream in the sex of that particular kitten!

Gee - tough, with small, dark pics - but it is certainly tabby (lynx) point - probably seal and perhaps silver as well? More pics?

Still very dark and small, but I'd say seal tabby point. What's the underside of the tail? (Could be seal silver tabby pt) Silver tabby (lynx) points often have a pink noseleather rather than brick red (or matching with point colour) - can you do a closeup of that as well?

Seal tabby point, I'd say. ("seal lynx pt' in CFA or NZCF.)

Thanks Lesley.

With your experience, what would be the result mating a Seal Tabby female to a Blank male (with sign of white hair) LH?

I'd need a bit of a clue as to what colour/pattern goes in the 'blank' space! (And where is the sign of white hair)
