Awful! Especially at 8 days. Usually, a female will do that if she's stressed and feels the kitten/s are threatened by a predator (which can easily be people, in her mind) ....if people have been over-handling them or she's not allowed peace and quiet with her kittens, she might do that so the predator doesn't kill them.

thanks for the fast reply! really needed it.

ok so now what can I do? all of my cats are in cages. this mother cat as well. in her own cage with her kittens. all cages are next to each other...could this be a problem for her? does her cage needs to be isolated from others?

much better isolate from the rest, mama worry for her kid safety. Try not to interect much with the kitten ( touch etc.....) if we toch them often, kitten will have our smell and this is not good to mama.

Absolutely!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Move her cage away from other cats and household noise and traffic and give her a dark nest (a large carton with bedding inside it would do - best with just an appropriately sized hole for her to get in and out) and let her settle. Of course, when the kittens are older, you will need to handle and socialise, but not yet.

They think as the little one will grow up and take over theire place as big boss in the house. This is from my past experience too. Correct me if im wrong. Kepala berdarah? In the wild, male tiger known to kill little cubs so the female will come in heat again and mate and also at the same time eleminate future competitors on theire own teritory

ibu makan anak? Aduhai..saya baru melihatnya dan mengalaminya.tak sangka sbb sebelum ni yg tau kucing jantan aje yg dok makan anak..tapi skang si ibu..tabby yg saya bela dr kecik ni yg makan anak dia sendiri.Sebenarnya arii tu dia branak sorang2 sbb saya ader pertandingan woodball dan husband ader kelas.Bila kami blk kat umah,tup2tengok dapur penuh darah,2 baby dah tercabut kepala.Husband sedih gak,x kan x der yg idup..cari punya cari jumpe lagi mayat sekor baby dan 2 baby yg masih idup.Syukur..gembira jugak akhirnya. So mlm tu..kami teramat teruja nak ajar si tabby menyusukan anak..tp dia buat x tau ajer..Keesokkan paginyer saya lihat seekor baby (warna ginger) mati..lapar kot. Tapi seekor lagi ok.So mayat tu saya bungkus lah dulu x dan nak kuburkan sbb nak g keje.Balik dr keje tgk mayat dah ilang.Puas cari merata tempat.mlm tu plak tgk dia layan anak yg seekor tu ok plak.ader gak jilat2 muka..tapi bila kami semua sibuk ngan keje umah..sedar2 dia dok sedap 'mentedarah' anak dia yg tgh idp tu...wa..wa.. sedih nyer..sampai ati dia makan anak dia..
