We do not allow any sales of cat in the forum. We are here to have fun with cat lovers all around the world, sharing problems and resources. We also have had intensive discussion and agreed with issues below:-
1) What are pedigree cats and what are not? This chapter comes with the definition of pedigree certificates from various organizations such as CFA, TICA, FIFE, GCCF etc. We also have further discussed on “breeder’s certificate” and agreed that it has no value compared to the valid cat’s registries certificates. 2) The price of the non-pedigree cats, pedigree cats without certificates, the breed name for cats without certificates and can these cats enter Pedigree Cat Show. Cats without certificates cannot be called with pedigree names because nobody can prove it. Many users in here initially, didn’t know that their cats are not Persian or Maine Coon etc. It happens because they were told that their cats are pedigree but the fact is they are not. Some of them claimed that they paid “fortune” for a “Persian” cat without any paper proving that the cat is a Persian. We want to avoid that to happen in here. 3) The most extensive discussions that we have agreed:- a) Domestic longhair - Longhair cats without proven bloodlines or cats without pedigree certificates or mixed “marriage” cats b) Domestic shorthair - Shorthair cats without proven bloodlines or cats without pedigree certificates or mixed “marriage” cats 4) CFA, TICA, FIFE etc Breeders – We would expect the newly join breeders to make an introduction about themselves such as their catteries, websites and tell us about the cats that they are breeding. Some reputable breeders do sell cats without certificates but they tell the buyers in advance by putting it as part of the advertisement. Usually pedigree cats were sold without certificates due to some quality issues. 5) We encourage people to buy cats from cat breeders but we do not encourage people to buy cats from middleman or wholesale sellers. We do not support breeders who mass produce cats or buy big bulk of cats from somewhere else and advertise them in here. We would be pleased if the poster could tell us the cats’ origins or whether the cats will be sold with certificates or not. If not, say it clearly, so then nobody will feel unhappy or regret someday. 6) Conditions for sell - We would also encourage breeders to sell kittens at age 3 months above with at least 2 vaccinations. It must be stated along with the advertisement and of course the cats must be healthy. 7) Price issue – Price is a very subjective matter but nothing is secret once you have sold them. If the cats will be sold without the certificate, then the price must be reasonable. On top of that, the sellers must inform the buyers on the certain consequences such as the cats are not showable and there is a possibility that people will not recognize the cat’s breed. People in this forum will address a Maine Coon or a Persian etc without pedigree certificate as a “Domestic Longhair”. 8) Spay / Neuter – We encourage breeders to spay/neuter cats before selling to avoid future strays or homeless cats. We do not say breeders cannot sell “intact” but usually reputable breeders will only sell “intact” to other registered breeders. 9) Breeding and selling of DLH/DSH - We do not encourage the breeding and selling of DLH/DSH that would lead to "backyard breeding" - mass produce for profit making only. The moderators have every rights to warn and remove the thread if necessary. 10) Since the advertisement for selling DLH is not allowed, requesting to buy for DLH is not permitted too. This is to avoid the seller to sell their DLH through PM after reading such requests. We do not want the forum to become the proxy for the unethical breeder. Reminder: Each forum has its own rules and regulation. If you find the rules in this forum are not to your liking or prefer other forums rules and regulations, you have the right to make choices. We hope you respect the rules and regulations of this forum. They are not for you to criticize as the rules are for made for reason and the reason is for the best of the forum.
